Death of John Daly.
John Daly who has been in ill health for several years past, died at his temporary home at Perry, November 21, For the past two years Mr. Daly has been confined to the house at his home in Manning a great deal of the time, Severe stomach trouble with other complications wore his life away,

Mr. John Daly came to this county fourteen years ago and purchased a farm three and one-half miles southeast of Manning where he resided until some three years ago when he purchased property and moved to town where he has since resided until some six weeks ago when he went to Colfax and not receiving any relief, came back to Perry where he rented rooms for the winter and thought he felt better for a few days but soon the change came for the worse and it seemed no medical aid could relieve him. Mr. Daly was a good kind hearted man and was loved by all who knew him. He has been a member of the M.E. Church for a number of years and lived a true Christian life.

John Daly was born in Ireland March 1829; came to America in 1854. He was united in marriage to Margaret Kearnagham in 1861. Settled on a farm in Clinton County in 1865. He leaves a wife and four children including an adopted son to mourn the loss of a kind husband and loving father. They are Mrs. J.T. Stavely of Perry; Mrs. J.H. Stewart, Mary E., and Robert Daly of Manning.

The funeral services were held at the home in Manning last Sunday afternoon. Rev. Alexander Bennett of the M.E. Church officiating. After which the remains were interred in the Manning Cemetery followed by a long concourse of relatives and sorrowing friends. The entire community extends their sympathy to the bereaved ones.
