Last Rites Today For John Grimm

The community was grieved Monday to learn of the death John Grimm, a resident of this community for many years, who passed away at the Wyatt Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

John Grimm was born on October 6, 1882, in Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa, son a Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Grimm, pioneer settlers.
On November 3rd, 1909, he was united in marriage to Caroline Petersen, to which union two children were born, Naemi, Mrs. John Schroeder and Blondina, Mrs. Harry Carstens.

For a number of years they farmed and in 1924 moved to Manning where they have made them home since. Mr. Grimm had been an employee in the Dultmeier Manufacturing Company during that time.

The deceased had not been it the best of health in recent months but continued his work until several weeks ago. He was taken to the Wyatt Hospital about three weeks ago where he received all the attention that skilled and loving hands could give him, but to no avail and he passed away at the hospital on Monday, March 10th, 1941 at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Besides his wife and two daughters he leaves three grandchildren, Myra and Gary Schroeder and Karen Kay Carstens; also five sisters, Lina, Mrs. Bill Grage, Manilla; Emma, Mrs. Wm. Goettsch; Bertha, Mrs. Albert Genzen; Ida, Mrs. Wm. Wiese; Anna, Mrs. Henry Ewoldt, Manilla.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, March 14th at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, at two o'clock with Rev. J.M. Ansorge in charge. Interment will be in the Manning cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Amos Misselhorn, Elmer Petersen, Wailes Nissen, Paul Grimm, Lester Genzen, Rockley Wiese.
