JOHN HARRISON OBITUARY

John Harrison died at his home in Lockport, April 21 after a protracted illness, aged 83 years, 4 months and 17 days. Mr. Harrison was born in Lancashire, England, He sailed from Liverpool on May 2, 1852, landed in Lockport, Illinois, June 17, 1852. On January 1, 1854, he was married to Miss Sarah Leggott who died January 26, 1870. To this union eight children were born. One died in infancy and the living children are, Mrs. Thomas Gray, Manning, Iowa; Alfred J. Harrison, Ottawa, Kansas; Sarah E. Wiles, Chenoa, Illinois; John G. Harrison, Ottawa, Kansas; Mrs. John Wiles, of Frankfort, South Dakota; Mrs. Edward Scriven of Grand Junction, Colorado; William E. Harrison, Chenoa, Illinois. He leaves 27 grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren to mourn his loss. Mr. Harrison was a miller by trade. He also was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church from which place the funeral was held. Rev. Cromwell spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing relatives. Interment was made in the Lockport Cemetery.
