DEATH'S HARVEST.
Since the MONITOR'S last issue the grim destroyer - Death - has made desolate several Manning homes and saddened the hearts of a multitude people. It is seldom that we are called upon to chronicle the deaths of as many prominent and universally beloved citizens as we are compelled to this week, and we hope the unpleasant task will never be repeated again (John Hoffmann, Magdalena Schumaker, Milda Tank, and O.B. Dutton all passed away).

JOHN HOFFMANN, JR.,
The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffmann, died on the 3d inst. (means in the current month) of grip, aged 7 months and 2 days. The little one was born in Missouri, during the parents' brief residence there, and had always been delicate in health. The parents have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.

There is no record of John Hoffmann, Jr., in the Manning City records or on the tombstone records so this child could be buried somewhere in Missouri.
