JOHN JETTER LAID TO REST

Funeral Held in Denison Yesterday, Remains Were Interred in the Hayes Township Cemetery.

The many friends of Jahn Jetter were shocked and surprised to learn of his death which took place at the Denison Hospital Sunday, April 5th, at 12:30 a.m. He had been working up until a short time before he was taken ill and was taken to the hospital for an operation but two days before he died.

Mr. Jetter was an industrious man, a hard worker and upright in all his dealings. He was a kind husband and father, neighborly and loved the companionship of a large circle of acquaintances who will regret his demise.

John Jetter was born November 8, 1857, at Davenport, Iowa, and died in Denison, on the 5th day of April, 1925, being 67 years, 4 months and 28 days old at the time of his demise.

On February 25, 1890, he was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Bohnsack and this union was blessed with 12 children, nine of whom are living. Those living are: Mrs. Henry Wendt of Denison, Henry of Tara, Louie of Brogan, Mrs. Laura Volquartsen of Arion, Mrs. Amanda Dumdie of Wall Lake, William, Carl, Minnie and Alvie at home.

After their marriage they made their home in Iowa Township in this county for four years, in Nishnabotny Township (Nishnabotna is the correct spelling) for six years and then, went to Shelby county where they resided 18 years before returning to Iowa township where they lived for five years. Two years ago they moved to Denison and here they resided up to the time of his death.

Besides the devoted widow and children he leaves to mourn his death six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lahndorf of Manilla and Mrs. Henry Wendt of Ponca, Nebraska. One brother, Peter, of Holstein, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Schnoor and Koch Chapel, Rev. Carlson of the Methodist church officiating after which the remains were interred in the family lot in the Hayes Township Cemetery.
