John Jacob Lorenzen, 76, of Aspinwall died at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll Friday, October 11, 1974. He had been in failing health for several years.

Rites were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with the Rev. Don Griffin officiating. Mrs. Marge Miller and Mrs. Beverly Mitchell were vocalist and organist, respectively. Pallbearers were Gary Vinke, Milton Sinow, Roy Soll, Marcellus Grundmeier, Lewis W. Schroeder, and Marvin Schultz.

Mr. Lorenzen, son of Lorenz and Catherine (Clausen) Lorenzen, was born in Jefferson Township, Shelby County, October 10, 1898. He was married to Milda Schnoor December 3, 1924, and they farmed near Irwin in Shelby County for 20 years and then in Crawford County for 18 years before retiring and moving to Aspinwall in 1963.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jack of Manning and Alan of Manilla; six grandchildren, a great-grandson; and four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Boyens of Manilla, Mrs. Christina Tesch, Mrs. Emma Ranniger, and Mrs. Ed Steen, all of Manning.

Mr. Lorenzen was preceded in death by an infant son; three brothers, Thomas, William, and Edward; and two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ehrichs and Mrs. Lena Thompson.
