John Ludwig

John R. "Jack" Ludwig, age 72, of Lake View, Iowa, formerly of Bellevue, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Black Hawk Lake in Lake View.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 1st, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Nebraska. There will be no visitation.

Jack was born in Vail, Iowa, on October 18, 1933, and graduated High School in Bellevue, Nebraska. He continued his education, graduating from Peru State Teachers College in 1958.

Jack had a 30-year business career in Nebraska. He was an owner of numerous businesses including Ludwig and Sons construction, Ludwig Brothers Boat Company, Kleen Kar Wash, and Cape Truck Toppers. Jack retired in 1986. He and Candy spent the winters in Florida and summers in Lake View Iowa. Jack was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a member of South Omaha Eagles 154, founding member of FOE 3912 Bellevue, as well as 32nd Degree Mason and Member of Scottish Rite and Tangier Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline (Candy) Ludwig; brothers, Gerald Ludwig of Sun City Center, Florida, James and wife Debra Ludwig of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Kenneth Ludwig of Ruston, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Myra (Hagge) Ludwig of Bellevue and brother Charles Ludwig of Glendale, Arizona.

The family wishes memorials to Shrine Hospitals for children or First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Nebraska.
