In Memory of Julie Houdeshell
Funeral services will be February 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, Arizona...her remains were cremated

Julie L. Houdeshell, daughter of Delmar and Loyola (McCullough) Mundt was born September 30, 1945, in Manning, Iowa. She graduated from Manning High School in 1963.

She was united in marriage to Jim Stessman in 1967 in Manning, Iowa. To this union, three children were born. She relocated to Denver, Colorado, from Sioux City, Iowa, in 1982. While in Sioux City, she worked for Postal Finance and attended classes at Briar Cliff University.

Julie held management positions at Big O Tires and Cushman Realty while residing in Denver, Colorado. She married Don Houdeshell on June 26, 1993, in Aurora, Colorado. She later resided in Pennsylvania (at which time Julie earned her real estate license), Wisconsin, and Iowa. Julie and Don retired to Sun City West, Arizona, in 2011.

After retirement, Julie developed great loves for golf (achieving two holes in ones), chocolate, shopping, and dining out. She volunteered for various organizations, had a great ability for fashion design and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Julie passed away January 20, 2017, at the age of 71, peacefully at her home, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Preceding Julie in death were her parents and brother, Gary Mundt.

Julie is survived by her husband Don Houdeshell; 3 children: Chris Stessman (Stacy) of Blair, Nebraska, Michelle Enevoldsen (Daren) of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Tim Stessman (Dawn) of Goodyear, Arizona; 2 grandchildren: Anders and Annika Enevoldsen of Rapid City, South Dakota; stepdaughter Heather Valdez of San Antonio, Texas, and stepson Seth Houdeshell of Austin, Texas; siblings: Barb Brusegaard (Dick) of Ft. Mohave, Arizona, Jeanne King (her twin) of Grand Island, Nebraska, Marci Guzman (Lou) of Surprise, Arizona, Randy Mundt (Deanne) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Dick Mundt (Beth) of Manning, Iowa, Lori Potthoff (Brian) of Manning, Iowa, and Alan Mundt (Joann) of Dawson, Iowa; step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
