Julius Claudius Dammann was born March 9, 1903 in Crawford County, Iowa. He died July 7, 1949 and is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
He was united in marriage to Ella Annie Goettsch on June 11, 1924. They had two children; Daughter Viola and son Arlo.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents, Claus C. and Anna (Biehl) Dammann. He is survived by his wife Ella; daughter Viola Lucille; son Arlo Howard; brothers Emil and his wife Helena; Ernest and his wife Maxine; Eddie and his wife Alviena; Sister-in-law Betty Van Buren and her husband Milford; Brother In law William Goettsch and his wife Celia and brothers-in-law Louis Goettsch and Emil Goettsch and nieces and nephews.


Julius Dammann Services Held
Funeral services for Julius Claudius Dammann were held the Ohde Funeral home, Friday, with the Rev. Brown Garlock, at the Manning Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Harry Puck, Hugo Ahrendsen, Andrew Leinen, Ed Drees, James Rothfolk, and Cleo Chamberlain were pall bearers.

Music for the services was furnished by a quartet composed of Ray Pratt, May Schrum, Pat Mock, and Clifford M. Johnson, accompanied by Bonita (Mrs. H.W.) Hagedorn.

Mr. Dammann was born March 9, 1908, on the Dammann homestead near Manning, and attended the rural school at Ewoldt No. 8. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On June 11, 1924, he was married to Ella Goettsch at Carroll, Iowa. Two children, Viola and Arlo, were born to them.

Mr. and Mrs. Dammann farmed the home place with the exception of eight years, which were spent on another farm in this vicinity.

Mr. Dammann died at 8 a.m. July 7, in a Des Moines hospital at the age of 46 years. He had been ill since December, his condition becoming critical in June.

He is survived by his Wife and children; his mother, Mrs. Anna Dammann of Manning, and three brothers, Emil, Ernest, and Eddie, all of Manning.

His father, Claus C. Dammann, preceded him in death.

Attending the funeral rites from away were: Louis Goettsch, Montevideo, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Van Buren, Glidden; Mr. and Mrs. William Goettsch and son, Gray; Billy Goettsch, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Mr. and Mts. Reinhardt Rudnick and children, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Jensen, Audubon.


Julius Dammann is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
