Justyn (Sutherland) Harding of Colleyville, Texas, passed away peacefully at Dancing River Assisted Living in Grapevine, Texas, with her family by her side on December 30, 2016. She was born on July 20, 1929, in Manning, Iowa, and was the only daughter of Ernest and Flora (Fuller) Sutherland.

She grew up in Manning until she graduated from high school in 1947. She was an outstanding flutist in the school band and won a national competition for her playing. She attended Frances Shimer College for one year before transferring to the University of Iowa where she graduated in 1951 with a degree in economics. During her summer breaks from school, she enjoyed working with her father at the First National Bank of Manning.

After graduation, she married Donnan B. Harding, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky, in the First Presbyterian Church. After living in Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and California while her husband completed his medical training and fulfilled his military service, they moved to Toledo, Ohio, where they raised their two children. She was active in school activities and various clubs. She loved art, music and travel. With her love of the land in Iowa, she enjoyed managing her farms, interacting with the farmers and caring for the land for many years.

After her daughter moved to Texas and her son to New Mexico, she moved to Colleyville to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Her favorite pastimes were providing a wide array of crafts and activities for her grandchildren, and supporting their educational and musical studies.

Justyn is survived by her daughter Ann and Ben Vinod of Grapevine, Texas and son Jim and Susan Kellie of Corrales, New Mexico, three grandchildren: Kathryn Vinod of Grapevine, Texas, Andrew Vinod of Houston, Texas and, Duncan Harding of Corrales, New Mexico; and her relatives and friends.
