Larry Jahn of Manilla Dies in Crash

Larry Louis Jahn, a 39-year-old Manilla area farmer, was killed early Friday morning when the car he was driving went off a highway and burst into flames.

The accident six miles southeast of here on the Country Club road occurred just after 2 a.m. Jahn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jahn was alone in the car, according to State Trooper Robert Hansen, Denison, who investigated the accident.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla with the Rev. Victor Hoyer officiating. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla after 4 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Jahn's wife, the former Marlene Anthony, and five children survive. The children are Laurie, Lendall, Lonnie, Lance and Lynette. One grandchild also survives.

Other survivors include a grandfather, Carson Jahn; a sister, Mrs. John (Jeanette) Kilgore of Littleton, Colorado; a brother, Lowell of Omaha; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louie P.H. Jahn of Manilla and his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Anthony of Denison.

Jahn was born December 12, 1935, and graduated from Manning High School in 1954. He married in 1955.

At the time of his death (October 17, 1975), Jahn was farming with his father northeast of Manilla.
