Laura, daughter of Friedrich and Anna (Thommsen) Friedrichsen, was born March 19, 1894, at Bloomfield, Nebraska. As a young girl she moved with her family to Manning where they farmed southeast of town. She attended country school at the White Bear School House across the section from her home.

Laura was united in marriage with Edward Lamp on February 3, 1915, at Manning, Iowa. They farmed around Manning until 1933 when they moved to the Denison area. Edward died on May 2, 1974. In October of 1974, Laura moved to Coon Rapids where she lived with her son, Arnold, until she entered the Thomas Rest Haven in 1977.

Laura was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Coon Rapids. She was baptized on December 4, 1896, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, Nebraska, and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids on February 9, 1975.

Laura died on July 30, 1984, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, at the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Clifford; one granddaughter; Karen Lamp Long; one son-in-law, Robert Archer, one grand son-in-law, Merlin Long; five brothers, Ferdinand Friedrichsen, Edward Friedrichsen, Grant Friedrichsen, Henry Friedrichsen, and Harry Friedrichsen.

Laura is survived by six children; Harvey Lamp of Denison, Wilbur Lamp of Manning; Mrs. Walter (DeLoris) Sonnichsen of Denison; Arnold Lamp of Coon Rapids; Mrs. William (Marion) Nicholson of Aurora, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters-Selma Hacker of Templeton, Bertha Joens of Council Bluffs, Ella Stewardt of Audubon, Effie Christensen of Gray and one brother, Raymond Friedrichsen of Denison. Funeral services were held August 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Pastor John Milligan, of Trinity Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids officiated with Andrea Puck as accompanist and Larry Genzen as Soloist.

Interment was in the Manning City Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Ohde Funeral Home in Manning was charge of the arrangements.
