LAVONNE DOROTHY ANTHONY
Funeral services for LaVonne Dorothy Anthony were held Tuesday, June 7, 1983, at 2 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa. The Reverend Dennis Johnson of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning officiated. Larry Genzen was vocalist and Dorothy Kusel was organist. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Leroy Jansen, Ronnie Hiatt, Tom Rutherford, Kenny Pfannkuch, Steve Pfannkuch and Dick Hansen as casketbearers.

LaVonne, daughter of Emil and Ella (Kittler) Schnoor, was born October 6, 1927, near Manila, in Nishnabotna Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She graduated from Manilla High School in 1945. On March 5, 1947, she was united in marriage with Lyle J. Anthony. To this union were born three children, Connie Lee, James Lyle, and Jerry Duane. LaVonne made her home in Manning after her marriage. She was employed at Saunders Steak House for over 25 years until her illness forced her to retire. She has been in failing health for two and a half years and died Saturday, June 4, 1983, at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, Iowa, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 28 days.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Ella Manford, of Manilla; and three children, Connie Anthony, Charleston, South Carolina, James Anthony and wife, Corine, New York City, and Jerry Anthony and his wife, Gloria, of this community; by two grandchildren, Kyle and Allan; and by the following brothers & sisters, Merlin Schnoor, Manilla, Melvin Schnoor, Manilla, Marlin Manford, Jefferson City, Missouri, Irene Mrs. Clarence Nelson, Logan, Garnet, Mrs. Jack Waterbury, Chula Vista, California, Bonnie, Mrs. Bill Waterbury, Manning; as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
