100 years old turned the widow Lenke Schneekloth,
born Lage, of Stakendorf in the Probstei, whose picture we bring to you, which was taken on
her one hundredth birthday on March 25 of this year. She celebrated in full vigor and
attentiveness. As we reported in the previous edition of this paper, she was also presented
with a gift by the Kaiser and Kaiserin.
Translated from the German language by Dennis Barten.
Translator's note: I once read that the Kaiser presented all German citizens with a gift on
their 100th birthday. If I remember correctly a set of china, such as a coffee service, with the
Kaiser's portrait painted on the pieces was the gift.
