Leo Borkowski

Leo Hugo Theodore Borkowski, son of Henry and Johanna David Borkowski was born May 16, 1900. He was a retired farmer at the time of his death on Feb. 16, 1970.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 5, 1914, at Trinity Lutheran Church. He married Beulah Johnson on Feb. 15, 1923.

Survivors include his wife: 4 children: Dalton, Dallas and Mrs. Frank (Deloris) Knudsen, all of Audubon, and Mrs. Ron (DeEtte) Avey of Atlantic; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gus Borkowski and Albert (Sr.) Borkowski of Manning; 4 sisters: Mrs. Anna Jurgens, Mrs. Alma Meyer of Omaha, Mrs. Laura Dahlke of Omaha and Mrs. Lena Jurgens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 18, at St. John's Lutheran church, Audubon, with the Rev. Steve Persa officiating. Interment was in the Maple Grove cemetery.
