LESTER CLARK

Funeral services for Lester Clark were held Wednesday, July 12, 1978, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Carl Sinning officiating. Vocalist was Mrs. Donald F. Mohr, Organist was Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin, Iowa, with Duane Otto, John Miller, Gerhardt Voge, Merrill Callender, Joseph Hugeback, and Clarence Edmunds as casketbearers.

Lester Lake, son of Mathew and Sara Ellen (Kimball) Clark, was born October 4, 1904, near Irwin, Iowa. He attended the rural schools near his home and as a young boy moved with his family to Council Bluffs where he graduated from the Abraham Lincoln High School. Following his graduation, Lester came to Manning to work with his brother, Shirley, in a salvage business.

Lester was united in marriage in June of 1955, with Caroline (Stammer) Keane. Lester operated a service station in Manning for over thirty years, retiring about nine years ago. He has been in ill health for the past two years and passed away at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll on Sunday, July 9, 1978, at the age of 73 years, 9 months, and 5 days.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents and by six brothers & three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; by one stepson, John Keane and his wife Mary of Moline, Illinois; by two step-grandsons, Jim and Mark; by one sister, Lada, Mrs. Stewart Schaffer of Shellsburg, Pennsylvania; as well as by many other relatives and friends.
