LEWIS PAUL HAGEDORN
On August 21, 1935, Lewis was united in marriage with Marie Anna Wiebke Ehrichs at the Methodist Church in Manning. Four children were born to this union. Lewis and Marie farmed on rented land until they moved into Manning in 1968. Lewis then worked as a carpenter and saw sharpener. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Lewis had been in failing health for the past two years and on Sunday, September 6, entered Manning Regional Healthcare Center where he died Monday, October 5, 1998. He reached the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 24 days.
Besides his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by two brothers: Lorn and Alvin Hagedorn; and a granddaughter, Laura Hagedorn, infancy.
He is survived by his wife Marie Hagedorn of Manning; four children: Robert Hagedorn and his wife Carol of Manning; Roger Hagedorn and his wife Deanna of Manning; Mary Ann and her husband Chris Brandt of Aspinwall; Raymond Hagedorn and his wife Norma of Manning; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elberta Grimm; Dalores and her husband Louie Otto; and Myrtle and her husband Elmer Otto, all of Manning; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
