LINDA M. AHRENDSEN
Linda Marie, daughter of Alfred D. and Lola M. (Hansen) Ahrendsen, was born March 28, 1951, in Manning, Iowa. Linda was baptized in May of 1951 and confirmed in 1967, both at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln Township, Audubon County. She grew up on the farm and attended schools in Manning and Audubon. After graduation from Audubon High School she attended Des Moines Area Community College. She returned to Manning where she worked as a nurse's aide at the Manning Plaza and at various cafes in the area. She worked at Billie's Flowers for many years and more recently at Duckwalls and Deb's Corner Cafe, all in Manning.

As a youth she was a member of the Lucky Lincoln 4-H Club in Audubon County. Linda was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Tri-County Singles Bible Class. She enjoyed bowling, reading, and watching TV.

Linda died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Manilla, on Monday, September 8, 1997, at the age of 46 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Ahrendsen, in 1982; her grandfather, Henry J.M. Hansen; her grandparents, Julius and Anna Ahrendsen; an uncle, William Ahrendsen; and an aunt, Elaine Hansen.

She is survived by her mother, Lola Ahrendsen, of Manning; her grandmother, Alta Hansen, of Manning; a special friend, Mike Robinson, of Manilla; aunts and uncles: Alvan Hansen, and his wife, Dorothy, of Manning; Lydia Ahrendsen, of the Exira Nursing Home, in Exira; Lillie Bauer, and her husband, Elmer, of Audubon; Ed Ahrendsen, and his wife, Ilamae, of Audubon; cousins, other relatives and friends.
