Linda Kay, daughter of Eddie and Irene (Martens) Meggers, was born July 14, 1940, at the Manning General Hospital, Manning, Iowa. She was an only child and worked closely with her parents on the farm near Aspinwall. As a young child she enjoyed riding her bike and reading and later took lessons on the accordion and took pleasure in playing as long as she was able. Linda attended country school near her home and Manning High School, graduating with the Class of 1958.

Following graduation, Linda moved to Carroll where she worked for the Carroll Times Herald for a couple of years. On April 17, 1960, Linda was united in marriage with Russell Frank at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning where Linda had been baptized on September 8, 1940 and confirmed April 3, 1955. They were the parents of four children and lived on a farm south of Manning. Linda enjoyed caring for her children, helping on the farm, gardening, cooking and reading. She also worked part time as a proofreader for the Manning Monitor. Linda and Russ enjoyed card club and getting together with friends from the neighborhood. She was a member of the Evening Circle at church, a supporter of community activities and an avid Bulldog fan. The family took many car rides around Iowa and Linda especially enjoyed the engraved history in area cemeteries. Above all Linda was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.

On December 13, 1983, Linda suffered a stroke and was initially quite independent. As the years progressed she became dependent on her family and other caregivers. She thoroughly enjoyed getting to know those that came to their home to help out. During this time she started enjoying word-find puzzles. In September of 2007 when her health began to fail Linda became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. While at the Plaza, Linda was very friendly and looked forward to visitors and watching Polka programs on the television. She died at the Manning General Hospital on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Sandra.

She is survived by her husband Russ Frank of Manning; three children: Vicki and husband Dale Eberly of Sioux City; Kimberly Frank and Jim Miller of Ames and Rodney Frank and wife Deanna of Manning; five grandchildren Stephanie and Jessica Eberly and Justin, Austin and Michael Frank; many cousins, other relatives and friends.
