Funeral Services for Lois I. Knudsen, 86 of Norfolk were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Westridge United Methodist Church. Reverend Charles Kathurima officiated the service with special music provided by Arne Sorensen and Michelle Grossman. Eastern Star rites were by Beulah Chapter #40 OES. Burial was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Page Cemetery, Page, Nebraska. Reverend Costa deOliveira officiated with Doug Grote, Brian Craft, Michael Gearhart Jr., and Matthew Gearhart as casket bearers. Visitation was held from 3 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Knudsen died on August 29, 2005 at Faith Regional Health Services West Campus.

Lois was born on May 29, 1919 in Manning, Iowa the daughter of Nicholas and Martha (Longstruth) Schrum. She graduated from Manning High School. She married Leland F. Knudsen on July 11, 1949 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. The couple then resided in Manning until moving to a farm near Page for six years before moving to Norfolk. She gave piano and organ lessons all of her life and was an organist for First United Methodist Church, Westridge United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979, one brother, three sisters and one granddaughter.

She is survived by five daughters and their husbands. Linda Baker and Monte Black of Martell, Nebraska, Joan and Richard Cook of Rogers, Arkansas, Karen Gearhart of Irving, Texas, Rebecca and Doug Grote of Lincoln, and Kristin Garson of Prescott, Arizona. One brother James "Bud" Schrum of Fairfield, Iowa and one sister Sally Donnelly of Hill City, Kansas. Seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
