LOUIE EHRICHS
Manning Funeral services for Louie Ehrichs, 77 of Aspinwall, were held on Friday morning, June 20 at 11:00 at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Burial was in Nishnabotna Cemetery near Manilla.

Son of John E. and Anna (Jurgensen) Ehrichs, he was born March 29, 1892, in Crawford County, and attended Iowa No. 3 country school near his home. He worked as a farm hand and moved with his parents to Aspinwall, where he worked in a store and then began the carpenter trade. He did some trucking and corn shelling in later years, and retired in 1961.

On September 22, 1915, he married Clara Eickelkamp at Huron, South Dakota, and the couple lived in Aspinwall since their marriage. He was prominent in civic affairs in that community.

Mr. Ehrichs suffered a stroke at his home early Sunday morning, June 15, and died at the Manning General Hospital on Tuesday evening, June 17. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie at the age of four, his parents, three sisters and eight brothers.

He is survived by his wife and four children: Glenn of Corvallis, Oregon; Mrs. Amos (Dorothy) Kusel, Manning; Mrs. Walter (Shirley) Schramm, Denison; and Major Gene Ehrichs of RAF Upper Heford, England; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers; Emil Ehrichs, Denison and Frank Ehrichs, Aspinwall.
