Louis Fredrich Jansen
Louis Fredrich, son of Albert and Lena (Gruhn) Jansen, was born September 6, 1918, at Dallas, South Dakota. He was confirmed into the Methodist Church in Dallas, and grew up and attended schools in South Dakota. After he completed his schooling he moved to Los Angeles, California where he began working for Calman Electric in 1943. In 1969 the company changed their name to ITE Circuit Breaker. Louis was an inspector in the quality control department. He worked for ITE for almost 40 years.

In 1946 Louis was united in marriage with Ann Romanske in Alhambra, California. They continued to live in California. Ann died in 1983 and Louis retired and moved to Manning, Iowa to care for his elderly parents.

Louis died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, October 28, 1998, at Manning Regional Healthcare Center, Manning, Iowa. He reached the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 22 days.

Besides his wife and parents, Louis was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold Jansen, Clarence Jansen, and Melvin Jansen.

Louis is survived by brothers and sisters: Leroy Jansen of Carroll; Leonard Jansen and his wife Donna of Gregory, South Dakota; Bill Jansen and his wife Peggy of Rushville, Nebraska; Clifford Jansen and his wife Orpha of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; Jack (John) Jansen and his wife Maxine of Sioux City; Duane Jansen and his wife Arlis of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Delores and her husband Wallis Tonsfeldt of Spirit Lake; Berniece Potter of Manning; Joann and her husband Charles Odens of Forest City; two sisters-in-law, Nina Jansen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Jean Jansen of Grand Junction, Colorado; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
