Lowell Brokaw

Final rites were held for Lowell B. Brokaw, 69, of 1716 E. Pine St., who died Friday. Pallbearers were Phillip Conser, George Yasoda, Harold Spencer, Floyd Clyde, William Arps, and Albert Holpin. Burial was in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.

Funeral rites will be held on Monday. Mr. Brokaw died Friday afternoon at a local hospital after a four-year illness.

Rev. Thomas Lindsay will officiate at the service at Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.

Mr. Brokaw started Iowa Master Breeders in Sioux Falls in 1933. He retired in 1954.

He was born in Manilla, Iowa, on December 11, 1891. He married Jennie Wunderlich in Sioux City on November 19, 1915. He farmed nine years at Manilla after his marriage.

In 1924, he moved to Sioux City where he worked for Tollerton & Garfield Wholesale Co.

The widow; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Iverson and Mrs. Merrill, both of Sioux Falls; Mrs. Russell Blood, Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. W.C. Kugler, Denver, three sons, John, El Paso, Texas; Jarl and James, both of Sioux Falls; nineteen grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Schram, Manilla, are survivors.
