MACK W. CARTER

Mack W. Carter, 53, died Saturday afternoon (1967) in his home at 3031 Cleveland St.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial in Oakland cemetery. Rev. Paul Burgdorf will officiate and Mrs. Burgdorf will be organist.

Pallbearers will be Robert Raun, Stan Boka, William Blankenberg, Herbert Jensen, Hans Baker and Richard Foster. Friends may call in the Shad-duck funeral home until noon Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Carter was born January 10, 1914, in Monroe County, the son of Herbert and Louetta (Williams) Carter. He was graduated from Albia high school and attended Albia junior college. He married Iona Derner, June 6, 1941, in Manning. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Europe. He was employed by Railway Express Co. for 29 years. He moved to Clinton seven years ago and had been employed by Interstate Power Co. for two years.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dennis of Clinton and Ronald at home; two granddaughters; three brothers, Russell W. of Des Moines, Gayle H. of Ottumwa and Herschel of Seattle, Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Guy (Reva) Evans of Centerville and Mrs. Earl (Leona) Howe of Ottumwa.
