DEATHS.
Mrs. Holdsworth
Died, at the home three miles east of Manilla, March 15, 1901, Mrs. Margaret Holdsworth, the cause being the infirmities of old age and the grip. Maragret Irwin Holdsworth was born in Fermanagh County, Ireland, in the year 1831. She was married to John H. Holdsworth on April 8, 1846, one year following which the couple came to America, settling at Cawacla, where they resided for eight years, and then removed to Illinois. Here they lived until 1883, when they came to Crawford County, Iowa, where they have ever since resided. The deceased was the parent of 12 children, five of whom are dead. Besides the aged husband, 2 sons and 5 daughters survive, namely Mrs. Matilda Armstrong, Manning; Mrs. M.A. Walters, Rock Island; Mrs. Letilia Dixon, Jeannette, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Sarah Giesinger, New Jersey; Mrs. Belle A. Sturvorn, state of Minnesota; W.J. and George Holdsworth, Manilla, Iowa. All the children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Dixon, of Pennsylvania, who arrived later.

The deceased was a member of the Episcopal Church. The funeral was held on Monday from the home, the Rev. Bradford officiating, and the remains were brought to this city and laid to rest in the cemetery to the south.


Margaret Holdsworth is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
