Margaret Fern Karsten, 73, of 1640 Madison St. NE, died Saturday at Salem Hospital Memorial Unit.

Born in Creston, Iowa, she came to Salem in 1909. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include daughter, Shirley Talkington, Portland, and sisters Ruby Pierce and Hazel St. Clair, both of Salem, and Irene Wadsworth, Portland.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rigdon-Ransom mortuary. Entombment will be in Resetlawn Memorial Gardens.
