Services Held For Margaretha Dammann, Tuesday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaretha Dammann, 85, were held in the Ohde Funeral Chapel Tuesday, October 6, 1942, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. H.J. Timmer of the Manilla Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mrs. Nick C. Schrum, Mrs. Albert Dietz, Herman C. Pahde and Clifford M. Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Raymond, Louis, Lester, Walter & LeRoy Dammann and Irvin Bolte.

Mrs. Dammann died at her home at 7 o'clock Sunday morning October 4. She had been in ill health for some time, her death being attributed to complications of old age.

Mrs. Dammann was born March 19, 1857 at Betzdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. In May, 1877 she married Claus Dammann in the city of her birth, coming to Iowa from Germany in 1885. They located in Crawford County, moving to Carroll County three years later. Mrs. Dammann had been a resident of this community for fifty-five years, having lived in Manning since retiring from the farm.

Surviving are the following children: Henry and John, Manning; William of Westside; George and Herman, near Manning; Mrs. Arthur Langbehn (Anna), Wolsey, South Dakota; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dammann passed away in February, 1941. Three children also preceded her in death, one having died in infancy. The other two were Mrs. Emma Hershman, and Harry.

Funeral Rites Will Be on Tuesday for Mrs. M. Dammann

Manning Mrs. Margaretha Dammann, 85, died at her home, 408 Sue Street, at 7 o'clock Sunday morning. She had been in ill health for some time, her death being attributed to complications attendant to her advanced age.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home here, with the Rev. T.T. Timmer of Manilla officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery, with six grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Margaretha Dammann is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
