Mrs. Detlef Frahm Laid To Rest
Mrs. Detlef Frahm, a pioneer resident of this section, a well-known and well-liked Manning lady, passed away Saturday, after an illness of considerable duration.

Mrs. Margaretha (Rowedder) Frahm, was born October 8, 1859, at Böklund, Schleswig, Germany.

She was baptized by Pastor Paulsen at Kropp, Germany, and confirmed in the same place in 1874.

In 1880 she came to America and settled in Crawford County, Iowa.

On August 12, 1880, she was united in marriage with Detlef Frahm at Denison, Iowa.

For a number of years they lived on the farm in this vicinity, retiring and moving to Manning in 1914 to their residence on Sue Street where the home has since been maintained. Mr. Frahm passed away in 1923.

Children were born to this union: Henry, George, Herman, and John, all of Manning; Emma, Mrs. Hagge of Sac City; Harry of Bellaire, Maryland.

Mrs. Frahm had been ill for some time and of late had been in the Wyatt Memorial Hospital where all that skilled hands and expert care could do for her, but to no avail. She passed away on Saturday, February 25, 1939.

Besides the children she leaves thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, also a step-daughter, Mrs. John Ohrt of Manning and two half sisters, Anna Cornelsen of Payette, Idaho, and Mrs. Gretchen Nissen of Clinton.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, March 1, 1939, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. J.M. Ansorge in charge.

Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Fred Rutz; John Reetz, Leon Hass, Alfred Kuhl, Herman Pahde, and Chris Hollander.
