Marjorie Ehrichs

This community was shocked when it was learned that little Marjorie, oldest daughter of Louie and Clara (Eickelkamp) Ehrichs had passed away. She took sick Sunday, May 24, 1925, but no one thought it to be anything very serious as she was up and around part of the time. Saturday she took a turn for the worse. Everything that loving hands could do was all of no avail and she died at 11:30 Saturday night May 30, 1925. Flu of the bowels was the cause of her early demise.

She was born October 7, 1921, and at the time of her death was 3 years, 7 months and 23 days. She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, a brother, Glenn, and a sister, Dorothy, also a large circle of other relatives and many friends who extend to them a sincere sympathy in the time of their sorrow and loss.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, June 3. Rev. John Ansorge officiated and her body was laid to rest in the Nishnabotna Cemetery near Manilla.

Pallbearers were Gertrude and Florence Schroeder, Malinda Vehrs, and Irene Schacht.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Ehrichs, Mr. and Mrs. Dick and Emilie Eickelkamp and (Clara's) five brothers, namely, Fred, Louie, Ed, and Bob of South Dakota, and Frank of Sioux City, also an aunt of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Emil and Tena Tollgaard, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Anna Ehrichs and sons, Raymond and Edward, of Flandreau, South Dakota, and Bertha, Mrs. John Ehrichs of Norfolk, Nebraska.

A Blooming Flower Departed Life
Taken in the Years of Budding Childhood

With the sadness in our heart we are called upon to chronicle the death of a blooming flower of life, who had barely started to step on the threshold of budding girlhood. She sleeps beneath the mossy green in the cemetery.

Such is the will of the Master, who has the power to give and take, to create happiness and sorrow, as He deems best for the children of His creation.
