Marjorie Ann Johnson

Marjorie Ann (McMurphy) Johnson, age 90, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on May 15, 1923, near Clearfield, Iowa, the daughter of Cleo W. and Anna F. (Fabricius) McMurphy.

She attended school in Omaha, Nebraska, Manning, Iowa, and graduated from high school in Bedford, Iowa in 1940.

She was employed by the National Youth Administration until her marriage to Eric Johnson on January 31, 1942. After her divorce in October of 1945 she went to work for Civil Service, first at Quartermaster Depot 1945-1949, then for the Veteran's Administration (1949-1952) and finally for the General Services Administration in Kansas City, Missouri. She retired in June of 1971 after 26 years of service.

She made her home in Tightwad, Missouri, for about a year and then moved to Arrowhead Lake Estates near Edwards, Missouri, where she made her home until her passing.

She leaves an aunt, Georgia Burton, who lives in Arizona, as well as numerous cousins and their families.

Graveside Services for Marjorie will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Mossy Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri. No Visitation.

Note: there is no listing for Marjorie McMurphy in the Manning School records but a Donald McMurphy graduated in 1933.
