MARJORIE (BUXTON) LODWICK

Marjorie Buxton Lodwick, 89, formerly of Denison, died at her home in Pueblo, Colorado, Tuesday, February 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband James Lodwick, parents Harold and Martha Buxton, and granddaughter Karen Hufton. She is survived by her children Brynn (Larry) Hufton and James (Mary Kay) Lodwick, Jr.; grandchildren David and Donna Hufton, Marjie and Carter Lodwick; sister, Barbara Snyder; sister-in-law, Jean Lodwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was born February 4, 1924, in Indianapolis and grew up in Shelbyville, Indiana. She served in the Navy as a WAVE from 1944-1946. After graduating from Midwestern College in Denison, she taught Language Arts for 20 years at Manning Middle School. Marj was a member of PEO, AAUW, Friday Club, and Iowa Retired School Personnel Association. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling throughout the world. Marj was a kind person with a good sense of humor who saw the good in everyone.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Scientist.

A service will be held in the Chapel at Oakland Cemetery in Denison on Monday, February 25 at 11:00 a.m.
