Last Rites For M.F. Enenbach Here Monday

Took Active Part In Affairs Of The Community For Many Years
Funeral services for Mark Enenbach, 70, were held Monday morning February 28, 1944, at 9:30 in the Sacred Heart Church in Manning, with the Rev. Father J.A. Roder in charge of the services. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery in Manning, with the following acting as pallbearers: Emil Kuhl, Jacob Carstens, Ralph. G. Sutherland, Henry A. Boysen, Lawrence J. Nickum, and Julius Wehrmann.

Mr. Enenbach was born in Wheatland Township, Carroll County, Iowa, the son of the late William and Jane Enenbach.

On June 24, 1902, he was married to Miss Anna S. Lorenzen at El Reno, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife and the following children: Vivian and Eileen at home, Mrs. Raymond M. Bock (Margaret Perdita), Omaha; Phyllas and Mark Jr., of Des Moines; Henry and William are both in the armed forces overseas; also four grandchildren and one brother, William J. Enenbach of Bedford, Iowa. His parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Enenbach was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Manning, Iowa. He was secretary of the Modern Woodmen of America, secretary of the Holy Name Society, secretary of the Western Poultry Show Association, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He received his education in the Normal School at Glidden and at Iowa State Teachers College. He was a school teacher for many years and served as superintendent of schools for 18 years.

The family moved to Manning about twenty-seven and a half years ago. Mr. Enenbach served the town two years as councilman and ten years as mayor. At the time of his death, he was manager of the state liquor store here. Mr. Enenbach had been ill for about three months and passed away at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, February 24, 1944.

Enenbach and son, William of Omaha; William Enenbach, Hartley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Enenbach and A. Fisher of Harlan, Iowa; Henry Terlisner and Tom Maher of Carroll; Mrs. Mary Enenbach of Arcadia; and Otto Pound of Vail, Iowa.
