Obituary.
Martin Conner was born April 30, 1822, in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.H. Freetly, one and one-half miles east of this city, Friday afternoon, December 11, 1903. Martin Conner and Harriet Ziglar were united in marriage, October 20, 1847 and to this happy union ten children were born, five sons and five daughters, seven of whom still survive to mourn his loss. They are W.E. Conner, of Cripple Creek, Colorado; Colonel A.A. Conner, of Harmon, Illinois; L.L. Conner and J.C. Conner, of Wolsey, South Dakota; O.E. Conner, El Paso Texas; and Mrs. J.H. Freetly and Mrs. A.A. Lenhart, of Manning. Mrs. Conner passed away November 3, 1868, at the age of forty-four years. Mr. Conner united with the Presbyterian Church 1850 in which faith he remained steadfast until his death. He soon after moved with his family to Harmon, Lee County, Illinois, where he has since made his home until coming to Manning about one year ago to visit his two daughters and their families. At the time of his death he was in the eighty-second year of his age.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. J.C. Giffen. The bereaved families have the sympathy of the entire community.
