MARVIN W. HASS
Funeral services were conducted at the Ohde Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. and at Zion Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday November 25, 1954, for Marvin William Hass, 39, who was killed in an automobile accident while driving to Manning on Thanksgiving Day.

Pastor John M. Ansorge officiated. The Lutheran Choir sang "Rock of Ages" and "My Faith Looks up to Thee," with Janice Groteluschen at the organ.

Burial Was in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry, Willie, Louie, Bennie, and Elmer Otto, and Willie Hass.

Mr. Hass, second oldest son of Mrs. Lena (Clausen) Hass and the late Julius V. Hass, was born at Aspinwall November 23, 1915. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith March 19, 1916, by the Rev. Henry Wendt. He was confirmed by the Rev. John M. Ansorge December 20, 1936.

On September 25, 1940, he was married to Florence Steckelberg, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Steckelberg of the Manilla vicinity. Four sons and two daughters were born to them.

Mr. Hass farmed in Carroll and Crawford Counties with the exception of the last year and a half, when he operated a Phillips 66 Gas Station in partnership with Richard Sebern on Highway 141 east of Manning.

He is survived by his widow and children, Keith Eugene, 13; Kenneth M., 11; Kathryn Ann, 10; Kay Diane, 9; Kevin Lee, 20 months, and Kurt Duane, 3 months.

He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Lena Hass, four brothers, Henry, Denison; Lester, Irwin; Melvin and Merlin, Manning; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Helen) Schuldt and Mrs. Earl (Laverne) Schmidt, Denison.

His father, Julius V. Hass, died June 14, 1943.
