MARVIN KUHL
Marvin, son of H.E. and Caroline Jahn Kuhl, was born September 11, 1912, in Crawford County. He attended the rural schools near his home and the Manning schools. Marvin has engaged in farming all of his life.

He was united in marriage with Leola Thiedeman December 14, 1937, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Manning. Following their marriage they moved to their present farm home nine miles northwest of Manning. Marvin has been in failing health for the past few years and three years ago retired from active farming. He died suddenly at his home on May 8, 1979, at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 27 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother, Herbert and one sister, Mrs. Alvina Vollstedt.

Survivors are his wife, Leola, a daughter, Judy Kuhl of Boseman, Montana, two sons, Roger of West Des Moines and Gary of Waukee. By four grandchildren and by the following brothers and sisters, Elsie, Mrs. Hugo Wilhelm of Manning, Marcus Kuhl of Denison and Mrs. Kathryn Vollstedt of Manning as well as relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held May 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning. Officiating was Pastor Edward F. Heinicke. Organist was Mrs. Dorothy Kusel. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.

Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, was in charge of the arrangements.


Marvin Kuhl is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
