MARY AGNES BRENNAN

Mary Agnes Brennan, 81, Manning, died Monday, April 6, 1987, at the Manning Plaza in Manning.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held Thursday, April 9, at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, with the Rev. Ralph Reinhart officiating. Music will be provided by the Sacred Heart Choir. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 8, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Irish" Brennan; her parents; two brothers, Art and Joe Merrill; and a sister, Leone Klocke.

Mrs. Brennan is survived by three sisters, Loretta Merrill and Margaret Merrill, both of Bancroft, and Viola Dezatel of Ellensburg, Washington; two brothers, John and George Merrill, both of Bancroft; and by five nieces and seven nephews.

She was born November 2, 1905, in Delavan, Minnesota, a daughter of J.N. and Rosa (Engesser) Merrill. She attended high school in Bancroft, and completed nursing school in Carroll. She was a registered nurse at Wyatt Hospital, later the Manning General Hospital.

On September 24, 1934, she married Francis Brennan in Bancroft. They made their home in Manning and Mrs. Brennan continued to work at Manning General Hospital, retiring after 40 years in nursing.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Manning, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Anthony Nurse's Alumni Association.


Mary Brennan is buried in the Manning Catholic Cemetery.
