MRS. GEORGE FRANKFORTER

Funeral rites for Mrs. George Frankforter, 84, of Manning, who died in the Pfoltner Nursing Home here Thursday morning, will be held in the Ohde Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. J.A. Lippincott, minister of the Manning Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Manning cemetery.

Ray Pratt will be soloist at the funeral service with Mrs. H.W. Hagedorn accompanying. Pallbearers will be Antone Mergele, Peter Kuhl, Charles H. Loftus, John Mundt, Joe Sonksen, and Oliver Jentsch of Malvern.

Mrs. Frankforter was the former Mary Amanda Gardner, known to her friends and relatives as 'Mamie'. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gardner and was born April 8, 1873 in Linn County, Iowa, moving with her family to a farm near Manning at the age of 3.

She graduated from Manning High School and taught rural schools near Manning and Halbur as well as in Nebraska. In 1905, she was married to Mr. Frankforter who died on May 3, 1955. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Surviving is one brother, Bert Gardner of Gowrie.

Mrs. Frankforter was a member of the Manning Methodist Church but taught Bible classes for many years in both Methodist and Presbyterian churches.


Mary Frankforter is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
