Funeral services for Mrs. Gus Koester, 67, were held at the Manning Lutheran Church at 2 p. m. Friday, with Pastor John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial was in the Manning cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ed H. Kuhl, William Anthony, Alfred Schroeder, Hubert Lamp, Mevis Wiese, and Frank Meggers.

Mary (Carstensen) Koester, born March 14, 1879, in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, died at her home October 15, 1946, after a long illness. Her husband and eight children survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gus Koester, 67, were held at the Manning Zion Lutheran church Friday at 2 p. m., Pastor John M. Ansorge officiated. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Anthony, Alfred Schroeder, Ed Kuhl, Hubert Lamp, Frank Meggers, and Meves Wiese.

Mrs. Koester, the daughter of Mathias and Mary Carstensen, was born March 14, 1879, in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. Her parents came to the United States in 1880 and settled in Crawford County. She married Gus Koester December 1, 1897.

She died at her home October 15, 1946, after an illness of about nine months.

Mrs. Koester is survived by her husband, eight children, Mrs. Ida Wunder, Herman, Julius, Harry, Henry, and Mrs. Herman Lamp of Manning, Louie of Austin, Minnesota, and Mrs. Louie Meyer of Pocahontas, and nine grandchildren.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Manning.
