LITTLE BABY PASSES AWAY.
On last Monday the friends of the parents were deeply grieved to hear of the death of Mr. and Mrs. Grau's infant daughter, Matilda Luella. The little one had been ill but two days with that dread disease of infants, summer complaint, and passed away in the agony of convulsions, being only five months and nine days old.

Though her, stay in this home was brief the memory of her will remain forever. No more will the parents hear the coo of her voice or see the love-light shine from her eyes. The One who sent her to bless a home has had need of her in His Kingdom above. He only loaned the precious jewel for a time to the now sorrowing parents. Who can tell but what the little hands are beckoning from the golden gates of the bright city beyond the dark river, to the loved ones here.

Death is not always the grim demon supposed. He is oftentimes but the bearer of a tired soul to its Heavenly rest. Let the parents then not grieve. Let them rather be comforted by the thought that little Matilda is now resting in the bosom of her Great Parent, lulled by the songs and tender care of angels.

The funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. Golden, Wednesday and her little body was laid to its eternal resting place in the Manning Cemetery. The people of this vicinity extend to Mr. and Mrs. Grau their most earnest condolence.
