Matilda Brunnier Cook-Kunsch

Matilda Brunnier married Merle Cook in 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska.

After Merle died September 2, 1930, she married Henry Kunsch on December 12, 1931, in Omaha.

Henry died November 8, 1954.

In 1956 Matilda moved to Harlan, Iowa, to care for her sister, Bertha.

In 1963 Matilda and Bertha moved to Manning and were residents of Manning Plaza from the time it opened in July 1966.

Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Cook-Kunsch, 77, of Manning, were held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Daughter of Julius and Caroline (Koepke) Brunnier, she was born November 2, 1892, at Manning and attended schools here. She was married to Merle Cook in Omaha in 1926. He died September 2, 1930. She then married Henry Kunsch on December 12, 1931, and lived in Omaha until his death November 8, 1954. In 1956, she moved to Harlan to care for her sister, Mrs. Bertha Hansen. In 1963, she and Mrs. Hansen moved to Manning. She had been a resident of the Manning Plaza since it opened in July 1966. She died July 11, 1970, at Manning General Hospital following a short hospitalization.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. William (Frances) Ohde of Manning, nieces and nephews.
