Maurine Dorothy Kepford was born April 26, 1924, at Manilla, the daughter of Louie and Lillian (Jensen) Wegner. She graduated from Manning High School in 1942. After graduation she was a school teacher in the Buck Grove area. During the war, she was employed at the Priebe Egg Drying Plant in Manning.

She was married on August 27, 1947, to Loren Kepford at Denison. While living in Denison she was a school teacher in various schools. In 1952 the family moved to Norwalk, CA. where she was employed with Bank of America, retiring in 1986. Since that time she and her husband had done extensive traveling in their motor home.
After a long illness with cancer, she passed away on June 21, 1994 at Downey, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Evelyn Stephenson and one grandson Travis Hunt.
Surviving are her husband Loren; daughter Melissa Hunt and her husband Wray; son Bradley Kepford; granddaughter Ashley Hunt. Step-grandson Elliott Hunt; brother William Wegner and wife Jan all of Norwalk, CA. Sister Arlis Petersen and husband Leonard of Ute; brothers-in--law Dwight Kepford and wife Florence of Denison, Donavon Kepford and wife Sylvia of San Jacinto, CA.

Funeral services were held June 24, 1994 at Trinity Baptist Church in Downey, CA., with Pastor Scott Burnsofficiating. Pallbearers were: Wray Hunt, James Stephenson, Rick Kepford, and Randall Kepford. Burial was at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA.
