Funeral services for Merle A. Anthony were held Thursday, February 9, 1989 at 10:00 a.m. at Metz Chapel in York, Nebraska.

Reverend Harlan Heier officiated the service. Graveside services were held Thursday, February 9, 1989, at 3:30 p.m. at the Manning, Iowa, city cemetery. Metz Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Merle A. Anthony, 65, of Fairfield, formerly of York, died Monday, February 6, 1989, in York, Nebraska.

He was born December 13, 1923, at Carroll, Iowa, to Henry and Emma (Stammer) Anthony. He married Berdella Farley December 9th, 1945, at Manilla, Iowa. He was a retired farmer and had worked at the co-op in York and also ran Anthony's Radiator Repair in York before moving to Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife Berdella of Fairfield; one daughter, Barb (Mel) Peterson of York; one son, Steven (Marilyn) Anthony of Fairfield; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one brother, Glen Anthony of Sacramento, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one brother Lyle Anthony.


Merle Anthony is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
