Milda Hansen was born on a farm in Carroll County near Arcadia, Iowa, September 29, 1913, the daughter of Harry and Sophia (Koepke) Martens. She was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia and confirmed in her Christian Faith there April 15, 1928, by the Rev. Theo Tews. She was raised on the farm and received her education in the Washington Township Rural School near her home.

In 1932, Milda was united in marriage with Louis Hansen at Denison, Iowa, by the Rev. Frese. Their union was blessed with four children, Jeanette, Louis, Eugene and Mary Ellen. They made their home in Westside and Manilla before moving to Denison where Milda was employed at the Armour Plant. She was later employed at Cronks Cafe for many years and Farmbest before retiring in 1973 from Farmland Foods.

Milda spent her retirement years in Denison where she enjoyed her hobbies of crocheting, sewing, eating out and eating her cheerios. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by those near to her.
