MILDA M. LORENZEN
Funeral services for Milda M. Lorenzen were held Monday, May 16, 1988, at 2:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Officiating the service was Pastor Sushil Joseph of the United Methodist Church of Manning with JoAnn Karsten as organist and Judy Joens as vocalist. Interment was in Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla with Dean Lorenzen, Michael Lorenzen, Debra Lorenzen, Daniel Lorenzen, Dawn Lorenzen and Boni Lorenzen, her grandchildren, as casketbearers.

Milda, daughter of William and Minnie Osbahr Schnoor, was born March 23, 1901, in Nishnabotna Township, Crawford County, Iowa.
December 3, 1924, Milda was united in marriage with John Jacob Lorenzen. They farmed southeast of Manilla in Shelby County for twenty years, and then moved to a farm west of Aspinwall where they farmed until retiring in 1962. That year they moved to Aspinwall where Milda had made her home until the time of her death. Her husband died in 1974.

Following a brief illness Milda died at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa, Friday evening, May 13, 1988, at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 20 days.

Besides her husband, John, Milda was preceded in death by her parents; by one son, Donald, in infancy; by the following brothers and sisters: Emil Schnoor, Arnold Schnoor, Clara (Mrs. Frank) Steckel-berg, Ella (Mrs. Ed) Steckelberg, and Emma (Mrs. John) Umland.
Milda is survived by her sons and their wives: Jack and Wava, of Manning and Alan and Bonnie, of Manilla; by six grandchildren: Dean, Daniel, Dawn, Michael, Debra, and Boni; by eight great-grandchildren; by sisters-in-law, Emma Ranninger and Christine Tesch; and by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Milda was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, and later became a member of the Methodist Church. She currently held membership at the United Methodist Church in Manning.
