MILDRED DOROTHY LYDEN
Funeral services for Mildred Dorothy Stuhr Lyden were held Tuesday, July 16, 1991 at 10:30 a.m. at Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa. Reverend Marshall Brown of the First Presbyterian Church, Manning, officiated the service with Connie Siepker as organist and Judy Joens as vocalist. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Harold Schmidt, Richard Crandall, Ronald Frahm, Wilbur Hill, Wayne Curlile and Lyle Arp as casketbearers. Monday, July 15, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. the Order of the Eastern Star Memorial Service was held at Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa.

Mildred, daughter of Adolph and Mary Petersen Kluge, was born November 8, 1905 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. As an infant she was adopted by C.H. and Emma Juels Stuhr of Manning: Mildred attended Manning schools, graduating in 1925. Mildred was united in marriage with Francis Vincent Lyden in 1925. They lived their entire married life in Manning. Her husband died in 1955. Mildred moved to California in 1959 where she lived for ten years. Upon her return to Manning she lived in the Terrace Apartments.

Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Salons Chapter 231 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

When her health began to fail Mildred became a resident of the Manilla Manor Nursing Home in January of 1991. On July 6th she entered Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa where she died Saturday, July 13, 1991 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 5 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by her parents.

Survivors include her children: Vincent Lyden, Jr. and his wife, Lillian, of Turner, Oregon; Marianne and her husband, Harold Addington, of Concordia, Missouri; and Jeanne and her husband, Ronald Farley, of Waverly, Iowa; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson; one brother, Donald Stuhr, of Dunnelon, Florida; two half sisters: Katherine Kluge and Anna Marie Shenault, both of Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Mildred Lyden is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
