Minnie A. Boers

Minnie A. Boers, the daughter of Otto and Maria Riekmann Rudnick, was born October 12, 1907 at her parents' home in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died June 13, 2005 at the Carroll Manor in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 97 years, 8 months, and 1 day.

Minnie was baptized November 17, 1907 and confirmed March 290, 1921 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. She attended rural school in Lincoln Township and graduated from the Gray High School in Gray, Iowa. Minnie attended Beauty School for a short time and then was employed by several businesses in the Gray area.

In 1943 she was united in marriage to Lloyd B. Boers in Hiawatha, KS. One son, William, was born to this union. Minnie was a homemaker for many years. In 1972 they moved to Carroll, Iowa where they enjoyed their retirement years. Lloyd died in May 26, 1987. Minnie continued to maintain and live in their home in Carroll.

Minnie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll and was a member of the church quilting group. She also volunteered at the New Hope Village Store for several years.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were parents, two sisters: Elisa Rutz and Dorothy Rudnick; her brothers: Reinhardt Rudnick, Gus Rudnick, Alfred Rudnick, Herbert Rudnick, John Rudnick, Carl Rudnick, August Rudnick, and Oscar Rudnic.

Survivors include her son, William Boers of Lenexa, KS, her sister, Bertha French of Boyden, IA, her sister-in-law, Alice Hawks of Spirit Lake, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
