TAKEN TO FINAL REWARD
Mrs. B.H. Doty, of this city gives up unequal battle for life last Monday
TUBERCULOSIS OF LUNGS
Was the cause of death - Deceased had recently returned from Hot Springs, South Dakoga, where she went for health.
INTERMENT AT WAYNE, NEBRASKA.

Died at her home in our city, Monday evening, September 2, 1907, Mrs. B.H. Doty after lingering for several months with that dreaded disease, consumption. Brief funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning, conducted by her pastor, Rev. U.S. Lacy of the Presbyterian church at Manilla, Iowa, assisted by Rev. Golden of the M.E. Church of this place, who paid a most beautiful tribute to the deceased. Her funeral was pathetic beyond expression, as she was so young and was sorely needed here. Only two short years ago she was married at Wayne, Nebraska, to B.H. Doty and they moved immediately to Manilla where he was a prominent jeweler. But recently moved to Manning and became a partner in the firm of Lewis & Reinhold in the drug and jewelry business, taking the place of Mr. Metzer who was compelled to give up the business on account of sickness. Mrs. Doty united with the Presbyterian Church at Manilla and was greatly loved by the members as well as by all that knew her. There was a daily beauty about her life which won every heart. She was of an affectionate nature and bright and winning in her ways, so that friend's circle was to her a large one. Here in our little city almost a stranger, but to her the dearest place on earth, as it was to be her home, her husband's business being here, she laid down to sleep and her struggle and burden bearing on earth were ended. Out hearts go out in sympathy to this lonely and bereaved husband. Nothing but the thought of the loving hand that removed her can reconcile him to her absence. Her future was

full of promise and we dare not ask why she was taken from us in her prime unless, as flowers are picked before the frost finds them, that we may not witness their decay. Her remains, were taken to her old home at Wayne for interment, accompanied by the lonely husband and father, the mother being too ill to be present. Her casket was covered with beautiful flowers sent by loving friends.

CARD OF THANKS.
To the friends who came to us in the hour of trouble and contributed all that human kindness could suggest, to help and comfort, we return most heart-felt thanks, and although such devoted friendship cannot remove the sad memories that linger around our vacant chair. It brings into view the brightest side of humanity and throws the pure light of an unselfish life into a darkened home. May the day be far distant when those friends who gathered around us will need similar attentions. But when the time comes may they receive the same kind of aid and consolation.
Sincerely, B.H. Doty.
