The sad news came to Manning last Thursday that Mrs. William Lee of Corning, Iowa, mother of Allie (Mrs. Donald W.) Sutherland of this place had passed from this life to the great beyond. Mr. Sutherland immediately left for Corning to join his wife who was at the bedside when her mother died. The deceased was 72 years of age and was not only a pioneer of that place but one of its most respected citizens. The funeral was held Saturday. Mr. Sutherland returned Monday evening, his wife remaining for some time.
