Norma Lamaack
Norma Ida, daughter of William J. and Emma Kuhl Anthony, was born September 7, 1908, in Iowa Township, Crawford County, Iowa. On October 11, 1908, she was baptized and on May 25, 1924, she was confirmed, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. She graduated from Manning High School in 1926, and then taught country school northeast of Manilla for two years.

On September 7, 1934, Norma was united in marriage with Henry John Lamaack at the Lutheran parsonage in Manning. Three children were born to this union. The family farmed west of Manning for two years after which they farmed northwest of Aspinwall until retiring to Manning in 1969. Henry died July 29, 1970. Norma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Happy Hour Club. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards, and nature, especially birds and flowers.

On Friday, January 8, 1999, Norma entered Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning, where she died unexpectedly Sunday, January 10. She reached the age of 90 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Besides her parents and husband, Norma is preceded in death by her brother Wilber Anthony and a son-in-law Allen Nissen.

She is survived by one son Allan Lamaack of Manning; two daughters, Marla and her husband Leland Kienast and Valda and her husband Gordell Lamp, all of Manning; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
