Funeral service and Masonic Memorial Service for Oliver J. "Bud" Jentsch were held Tuesday, January 29, 1985, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Reverend Carl Sinning of the Presbyterian Church and Manual Lodge No. 450, A.F. & A.M. officiated, with Dorothy Kusel as organist and Robert Hahn as vocalist. Interment was held in Manning Cemetery with Jack Lorenzen, Clifford Tank, Orland Fara, Russell Stribe, Gerhardt Voge and Ronald Frahm as casket-bearers.

Oliver, son of Paul and Emma (Lahann) Jentsch, was born June 2, 1906, at Manning, Iowa. He attended Manning Schools and was graduated from Manning High School in 1926.

On February 18, 1939, Oliver was united in marriage with Agnes McMinemee, at Denison, Iowa. They lived in Manning where he worked for Priebe's Hatchery. In 1956 they moved to Malvern, Iowa, when he became a government inspector of egg products for the USDA. In 1969, they moved to Lenox, Iowa, where he continued to work for the USDA until his retirement at age 70. They continued to live in Lenox after his retirement until October 1984 when they moved to Omaha to share a home with their daughter, Mary.

Oliver was a member of Silver Urn Lodge No. 234, A.F. & A .M., and had just become a 48-year member. He was also a member of DeMolay.

He had been in failing health for about a year before his death on Saturday, January 26, 1985, at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebrasks, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 24 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Earl, Lawrence, and Melvin Jentsch; and four sisters: Eleanor Kemp, Melitta Mohr, Pearl Brandhorst, and his twin, Olive Curtis.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes, Omaha, one son, Larry Jentsch and his wife, Sigrid, of Robinson, Illinois; one daughter, Mary Jentsch, Omaha, Nebraska, two grandsons, John Jentsch, attending Iowa State University, Ames, and Richard Jentsch, Robinson, Illinois.


Oliver Jentsch is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
